Microbiology Analysis Syllabus

The Microbiological Analysis workshop is designed to teach proper analytical techniques associated with assessing the microbial activity in general water quality measurements. The tests covered are Presence/Absence, Paddle Tests, Biological Activity Reaction Tests (BARTs), Membrane Filtration, Most Probable Number (multiple tube fermentation), and Pour Plate methods. Testing theory will be presented which will incorporate practical application of analytical procedures and "hands-on" experience. Attendees are required to analyze potable and nonpotable water samples.
