Antimicrobial preservatives are added in products to protect them from microbial growth. Antimicrobial efficacy test evaluates the effectiveness of antimicrobial preservatives. The test involves monitoring survival of known strains of microorganisms for 28 days. Samples are tested at different intervals to determine the survival of the organisms. The test demonstrates the efficacy of the product to stop the growth of organisms like Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. The test requires at least 100-150 ml or grams of the product.
B. Rapid Method with Binary Detection Technology- Simplate
Developed to overcome the limitations of conventional counting method. The Simplate system with Binary Detection TechnologyTM represents the latest technological advancement in counting methods. The results are available days faster than other method.
Cutting half the incubation time compare to conventional testing, allows manufacturer to release product sooner, address problem areas quickly and lower operational costs.
Available for Quality Indicator, the enumeration for Total Plate Count and Yeast & Mold test. The key testing requirement for QI in cosmetic range.
